The following itineraries are sample tour options from Casablanca.  Each itinerary can be customized to best suit your requirements:

Casablanca Imperial Cities Tour

A minimum of 8 days is recommended for a tour of the Imperial Cities.  Options for adding in an extra day or days to slow down the pace, spend more time in one location or extend the range include:  

  • the ‘blue town’ of Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains
  • a Moroccan Cookery Lesson and/or spa hammam in Fes or Marrakech
  • the High Atlas; perhaps a hike in Toubkal National Park
  • the coastal town of Essaouira
  • an extra day in Marrakech to relax at the end of your trip

Day 1 – Arrive Casablanca.  Casablanca to Rabat.  Arrive at Casablanca airport with the option to drive downtown and visit Hassan II Mosque.  Transfer to Rabat.  Overnight in Rabat Medina

Day 2 – Rabat City Guide Tour.  Rabat to Fes.  City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Rabat and transfer to Fes.  Overnight in Fes Medina

Day 3 – Fes City Guide Tour.  Walking City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Fes.  Overnight in Fes Medina

Day 4 – Fes Day Trip.  Day trip to Meknes, Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis.  Overnight in Fes Medina

Day 5 – Fes to Marrakech Transfer.  Transfer (1) along the motorway or (2) cross-country passing through Ifrane, Azrou, Khenifra and Beni Mellal with the option of a detour to see Ouzoud waterfalls.  Overnight in Marrakech Medina

Day 6 – Marrakech City Guide Tour.  Walking City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Marrakech.  Overnight in Marrakech Medina

Day 7 – Marrakech.  Free day in Marrakech to relax, Moroccan Cookery Lesson and/or Spa Hammam, or Day Trip to lunch in the High Atlas.  Overnight in Marrakech Medina

Day 8 – Depart Marrakech.  Transfer to Marrakech Airport and depart

Casablanca Imperial Cities Desert Tour

A minimum of 10days is recommended for a tour that includes the Imperial Cities, Atlas mountains and desert dunes of Erg Chebbi.  Options for adding in an extra day or days to slow down the pace, spend more time in one location or extend the range include:  

  • an extra day in the desert to explore with your driver
  • an extra day in Skoura Palm Grove to relax 
  • a day’s hike with a Mountain Guide to explore the landscape on foot
  • a Moroccan Cookery Lesson and/or spa hammam in Fes or Marrakech
  • an extra day in Marrakech to relax  at the end of your trip
  • night in the High Atlas; perhaps a hike in Toubkal National Park
  • a day trip or night in the coastal town of Essaouira

Day 4 –Fes City Guide Tour.  Walking City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Fes.  Overnight in Fes Medina

Day 5 – Fes Day Trip.  Day trip to Meknes, Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis.  Overnight in Fes Medina

Day 6 – Fes to Erg Chebbi.  Camel trekking in Erg Chebbi.  Transfer across the Middle Atlas to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi sand sea that lie close to the Berber villages of Merzouga, Khamlia and Hassilabed.  Along the route pass through Ifrane, Azrou, cedar forests of the Middle Atlas where Barbary Macaques live, Midelt, Ziz valley gorge, Erfoud and Rissani.  Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi and camel trek in the dunes for sunset.  Overnight in Erg Chebbi – Desert Camp under the stars

Day 7 – Erg Chebbi Dunes to Skoura Palm Grove.  Wake early to watch the sunrise and, if you overnight in the deep camp, camel trek back to the dune line.  After breakfast transfer to Skoura Palm Grove with a detour to see Todra Gorge, said to be the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco.  Along the route pass through Boumalne Dades and the area of ‘Rose Valley’ where highly fragrant roses blossom in the hedgerows during April and May with a Rose Festival to celebrate the harvest.  Overnight in Skoura Palm Grove

Day 8 – Skoura Palm Grove to Marrakech.  Transfer through the administration town of Ouarzazate and head north to visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most spectacular fortified villages (ksour) – walk through the village to the top for 360degree views.  Continue along Ounila Valley, and over Tizi-n-Telouet, to visit Kasbah of el Glaoui in the Berber village of Telouet.  From Telouet cross the highest Atlas road pass of Tizi-n-Tichka, with far-reaching views, to reach Marrakech late afternoon/early evening.  Overnight in Marrakech Medina

Day 9 – Marrakech City Guide Tour.  Walking City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Marrakech.  Overnight in Marrakech Medina

Day 10 – Depart Marrakech.  Transfer to Marrakech Airport and depart

Casablanca Camel Trekking Tour

It is around a 12hrs drive from Casablanca to the desert and, whilst it is physically possible in four full days, you would spend all of the time sitting in a vehicle.  Options for adding in an extra day or days to slow down the pace, spend more time in one location or extend the range include:  

  • a full day in Marrakech with a City Guide Tour
  • an extra day in the desert to explore with your driver
  • an extra day in Skoura Palm Grove to relax 

Day 1 – Arrive Casablanca.  Casablanca to Fes.  Arrive at Casablanca airport and drive direct to Fes.  With an early arrival, there is time to see Fes in the afternoon.  Overnight in Fes Medina
